Côte de Beaune

THE SOUTHERN HALF OF BURGUNDY’S FAMOUS CÔTE D’OR..

The southern half of the Côte d’Or reaches south from the namesake town of Beaune (or in fact, just above it in the appellation of Corton) through the villages of Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, and Chassagne-Montrachet. While the Côte d’Or is celebrated as the home of the world’s greatest Chardonnays, renowned reds are made here too.
